AGRIBUSINESS

Dependability is important to us. We work diligently to supply local Agribusiness with the right resources so they can not only provide food for our region, but for the nation as well.

With our region’s existing workforce, new Agribusinesses will be met with open arms so they can thrive financially.

AGRIBUSINESS

From growing to manufacturing, Michigan offers a bounty of opportunities for agribusiness. Home to 1,530 farms that utilize over a quarter million acres of farmland, our midwestern growing conditions make us a solid producer of corn and soybeans, plus dairy cattle and swine. In addition to traditional farms, Hillsdale County is also home to a select number of nurseries, orchards, and greenhouses. Our agribusiness businesses generate nearly $161 million for our state’s economy.

Michigan’s business climate is one of the most favorable in the Midwest. We eliminated personal property tax, which significantly reduces costs for companies that have expensive capital investments in equipment. And we’re consistently ranked among the top 10 states for major new and expanding facilities. In fact, about two-thirds of all Michigan businesses would recommend our state as a place to start a business.
